Felix J. Appleby Elementary School (10321 E. Vernon Ave.) teachers and staff are inviting local parents and students to the annual “Festival of Lights” holiday event, Dec. 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event, which began in 2014, has become a hometown holiday tradition which Appleby has provided for local families.
In years past, the event has brought mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, together at the campus to enjoy a decorated “Habitat” trail of thousands of holiday lights for all attendees to enjoy – along with various fun activities.
No entrance fee is charged for the special event. Tickets for activities – .25 cents or four for $1 – will be available for the below fun:

Holiday carol and song performances by the TK, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th Grade classes will be heard – as well as the band! Expected are two to four singing/dancing performances.
Event organizers are currently trying to book Santa Claus for photos, but not yet confirmed – tentative, given Old St. Nick’s schedule.
