Blythe man, 33, found dead in Palm Springs: ‘Suspicious death investigation’ led by PSPD

On the morning of Sept. 3, the Palms Springs Police Department (PSPD) announced the discovery of a deceased person found in Palm Springs, Calif.

Per the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner, and confirmed to the Times by PSDP, the decedent – 33-year-old Blythe, Calif., resident Herman Phillips – was found in the 200 block of El Cielo Road.

The coroner’s file reports the date of death as the morning of Sept. 3, with time of death unknown.

The date and time of injury is listed as pending investigation.

“(Phillips’) body was reported to have been found in an enclosed dumpster area,” stated PSPD on the agency’s social media page on Sept. 3 at 9:44 a.m. “We will have more information at a later time.”

A follow up inquiry with the PSPD noted the case is still an active investigation with no further details available at this time.
