On Oct. 3, at the Blythe Municipal Golf Course, the Palo Verde High School (PVHS) Yellow Jackets golf team competed against the Holtville Vikings for an up-hill and downhill battle of the clubs.

Playing a match of 9-holes, the teams navigated the course, taking on both single and parallel holes with great backswings, beautiful chips and precision putts.

Although the wind blew blustery and the sun shined brightly as the girls played above the valley, the Yellow Jackets’ gust for glory out-shined the Vikings – bringing home another win and securing a 5-1 overall record to date.

Individual scores were: Logan Doyle, 41; Natalie Dagnino, 53; Aubrie Watson, 56; Andrea Manjarrez, 58; Alycia Magadan, 60; and Dalilah Delgadillo, 64.

“Logan Doyle shot her best round ever, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for her. I was also very impressed by Aubrie Watson. She has been putting in quite a bit of time at the course and she saw the results of her effort,” noted Yellow Jackets golf coach Troy Peterson.
