Maria Massage parlor investigation leads to arrest: 40-year-old faces charge of prostitution

An undercover operation conducted on April 2 by the resident Blythe Police Department (BPD) and Riverside County’s Special Investigations Bureau at a local massage parlor – Maria Massage, at 610 E. Hobsonway – led to the arrest of 40-year-old Haiqiu Wan.

According to the BPD incident’s press release, Wan – of Monterey Park, Calif. – was arrested for prostitution.

“On or about Jan. 25th 2019 the Blythe Police Department received several complaints of possible illegal sexual activity (prostitution) occurring at Maria Massage at 610 E. Hobsonway in the city of Blythe. These complaints prompted an investigation into the massage parlor,” stated BPD.

Once BPD’s investigation confirmed illegal activity at Maria Massage, law enforcement moved forward with the operation.

“On April 2nd 2019 the Blythe Police Department along with the Riverside County Special Investigations Bureau conducted an undercover operation at Maria Massage,” stated BPD. “During the operation sexual acts were solicited for money and 40 year old, Haiqiu Wan, from Monterey Park, Ca. was arrested for prostitution.”

According to BPD, no one was injured during the investigation and no property damage incurred; Wan was accordingly cited and released at the Blythe police station.

The Times was unable to reach representatives of Maria Massage for comment.
