Two hurt in 3-vehicle crash on Hobsonway and 5th St.: Alcohol 'ruled out as factor'

On Monday, Jan. 3, at about 9:10 a.m. the Blythe Police Department responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Hobsonway and 5th St.

When officers arrived, they found three vehicles had been involved in the accident.

The vehicles involved were a blue 2013 Buick Verano, a white 2005 Ford Focus, and a white 2004 Dodge Dakota.

During the traffic collision investigation, officers learned that all three vehicles had been traveling eastbound on Hobsonway approaching 5th St. when the drivers of the Buick Verano and the Ford Focus stopped for pedestrians crossing Hobsonway at 5th St.

The driver of the white Dodge Dakota failed to stop and collided into the white Ford Focus.

The white Ford Focus then collided into the blue Buick Verano.

There were no pedestrians injured in this traffic collision.

A passenger in the Buick Verano and the driver of the Dodge Dakota were taken to Palo Verde Hospital by ambulance to be treated for their injuries.

Alcohol was ruled out as a factor for the collision.
