Faces & Places: BCRC's record-setting 2021 'Steps for the Cure' raises over $116K

“Ruth Brown Elementary would like to thank their students, families, and staff for their amazing contribution to this year’s Blythe Cancer Resource Center (BCRC) ‘Steps for the Cure’ event. Ruth Brown contributed $3,585.50! It was a record breaking year and we could not have done it without your help,” shared Ruth Brown Elementary School. “Our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students (and) their advisors – Mrs. Mancinelli and Ms. Steffens, and Mrs. Karla Phelps – spearheaded the fundraiser. Our NJHS students helped roll the change and donated baked goods that they sold during the event. Ruth Brown also partnered up with Border Patrol, Margaret White, and Felix J. Appleby selling raffle tickets for a chance to win various items donated by Border Patrol. A very special thanks also goes to Gilbane Building Company, Western Division, for their generous donation. Kaylee Dutton, one of our TK students, brought to Ruth Brown a $1,000 donation from Gilbane Building Company to help support our Blythe cancer patients. Thanks again everyone for the great support!”
